John Mullaney

John is an artist based in the South West of England. His photographic practice centres around landscapes and portraits. He is particularly interested in capturing moments-in-time and historical elements in the land that suggest a narrative and the passing of time. When taking portraits he focuses on the personality of the sitter and likes the images to tell a story. John’s practice is particularly influenced by the work of Ansel Adams.

‘A good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart, leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it, it is in a word, effective’ (Irving Penn)
